Video conferencing tools
For education, UM supports three web conferencing tools, namely: Zoom (lectures/tutorials), Collaborate Ultra (Lectures Tutorials) and Big Blue Button (for whiteboard & audio or chat & limited video). All are available in Canvas, while Zoom is also available outside of Canvas, web-based or as a downloadable app. The tools support live video connections, while some also have a recording feature. For lecture recordings, knowledge clips, skills clips, etc, we recommend you use MyMediasite desktop recorder. Mediasite is the UM video platform. It is used to record and store lectures and is the preferred platform for storing educational videos like knowledge clips or student generated video. It is integrated with Canvas.
