VideUM is Maastricht University video portal that provides general and faculty specific information on video in education and Mediasite, Maastricht University platform for storing and sharing lecture recordings and knowledge clips and other educational videos.
Record a lecture
In this section you learn how to record a video at your desktop, using Mymediasite desktoprecorder and it directs you toward other video recording tools available at UM. Moreover, it explains how to plan a recording in a lecture hall and provides a list of lecture halls with recording equipment in each faculty.
Upload a video
Go to Upload a Video to access Mymediasite and find instructions for uploading to Mediasite and sharing videos with your students either directly or through Canvas. Watch how to upload to Canvas in this video
This section provides information about lecturing online, including Zoom and Collaborate Ultra manuals. It also provides tips and tricks online lecturing for students and teaching staff; and consent forms for guest speakers that you can download and use.
Find your faculty video support staff
Each faculty has one or more staff members who provide support on the use of Mediasite. You can contact them with questions about your own Mediasite account, help with registering a lecture, uploading and sharing your own videos, or providing your students a folder within Mediasite to which they can upload their video assignments.
Create your own video
On VideUM, you can follow a step-by-step instruction or making a knowledge clip information on video design and didactics, video formats, recording tools, editing tools and video conferencing tools and about video and copyright. You can also find where to book a studio or where to find a cameraman or editor to help you create a video.
